A Zambian court on Tuesday cleared the country's health minister of corruption charges, citing lack of evidence to back the allegations. Zambia’s Health Minister Chitalu Chilufya, was arrested in June after being accused of using illegal gains to acquire assets. He was charged with possessing property suspected to be proceeds of crime. Chilufya who denied any wrongdoing had been freed on bail a day after his arrest and remained in office during the trial. He reportedly declined to comment on his acquittal outside court.
